… with Autumn out of the way, the cold weather is definetley here. Riding season is still not over but it’s bloody cold.
Will be going the Motorcycle Show @ NEC on the 28th of this month …. then I think I may have to put the bike away for December. Icey roads and cold mornings are not a good way to start the day!
Well ….. it’s now official. The bike has a Satan Inside logo. Realistically, you would have to be a computer user … and one that knows of the Intel Inside logo to really appreciate what it is.
I bought the vinyl from eBay, a user called schumi_08 who delivered the item within 24 hours! Top quality product and for a really decent price …. good purchase!
Here are a few of the pictures with the new logo on …. more pictures can be found in the Images page.
I’ve added some new videos to the youtube page ……… you can either view them all here : Videos
Went away for a couple of weeks, returned to a flat battery! No matter how many times I tried to ‘jump’ start it or re-charge the battery it was knackered.
So I had to buy a new one. Went over to MDS Battery Ltd in Enfield who was able to supply me a decent Varta battery for just £56.99. These batteries come with the battery acid seperate to ensure maximum life!
Out for a ride on Sunday, around High Beech and Epping …. whilst stationary at the traffic lights on the A12 Eastern Avenue, I pulled off from the lights then realised something just wasn’t right.
The steering was really hard and it actually felt like the front end had some serious problems! Pulled over to the side and examined the front end, but no problems! Had a look at the back wheel and it was as flat as a pancake! After a can of ‘tyre weld’ and a slow ride home I was able to get it back in one piece. Took it straight down to the boys at Motorcycle Tyres UK in Collier Row, Romford, Essex who fitted two brand new Michellin Pilot Power 2CT’s on her.
Usual professional service received by the guys at Motorcycle Tyres UK. I’ve just got to scrub these tyres in before I can get back to doing some proper riding!
After over 4,000 happy visitors to this blog, it was time for a little refresh. I wanted to include some of the new features that Wordpress has to over and I found that his theme, created by Maruf Rahman of BrightCherry was best suited!
Hope you enjoy the new look SatanR1 website …… new features such as forum, guides / how to’s will be added soon.
Enjoy.
Well, for those who realise there is life outside of Internet Explorer then you will probably realise that your open source web browser is far better than the bundled IE7 that comes with Vista.
With all the hype recently about Google Chrome, I thought I’d give it a try. What a load of crap that was, it was uninstalled within 7 minutes.
However, I have discovered a new browser. A browser that makes my Wordpress blog work far better, quicker and more efficient. A browser that does not crash when I’m on Facebook and browsing Youtube as well as 5 other pages at the same time.
Can I introduce you to Opera 9.60. It’s currently in it’s Beta stages but it has not given me a slight inch of problems so far. The ’speed dial’ function is something I could just never live wthout now!
For those who have no idea what I’m talking about check out there website, download it and see for your self!
I’ve added a new function to the blog.
You will notice now that below each post or page there is a “Share This” logo and text. Just clik that once and you can easily share any part of this blog with your favourite social networking sites or just email it easily to your freinds.
Hope you enjoy this new feature!
There is now a SatanR1.com fan page on Facebook, why not pop along and join too, would be nice to see you there as a ‘Fan’
Toby organised a short group ride to Southend for some chips … why? Because we can!
Nothing too eventful happened, but it was a good turn out anyway.
Check out some footage here :
Returned from the Ace Cafe this evening, went down with Sean and his Fazer thou. Take a look at some of the footage from the night …. including the stunts performed by the crazy Lithuanian riders! As much as I do NOT condone stunts or any stupidness on a public road, you have to give them credit for the skill they have to do these stunts ……. enjoy the footage, but please DO NOT TRY IT AT HOME!!
It’s the Bike + Streetfighters night tonight @ the Ace Cafe from 6pm.
http://www.ace-cafe-london.com/event_view.aspx?event_id=922&date=04/07/2008 00:00:00
I’ll be down there from approx 7pm onwards with some other guys ….. if anyone else wants to tag along on the group ride, meeting at the Moby Dick, Eastern Avenue A12 feel free to drop me an email with your name and number.
Cheers.
Why is it that main dealers charge over the top for servicing ? I needed a 10,000 mile service … which was basically just an oil change and oil filter!
Yamaha quoted me £256.70 ?? When I asked them what it consisted of, they said “Oil, Oil filter, air filter” and I said “err what else?” to which they replied “we check for tightness, lube and give it a once over” hmm … no thaks. Considering I have a K&N I don’t need an air filter, so just oil and filter it is … for £38 direct from Yamaha!
One hour later, and my bike was fully ’serviced’ with an oil change …. how can main dealers get away with daylight robbery!!
Just got back yesterday from the Euro Trip II. A total of 2,500 miles was covered in 8 days. The R1 didn’ skip a beat during the trip and just wanted to keep on going!
A new back tyre was fitted by the brilliant guys @ Moto Expert in France …. top boys!
We saw three countries on our tour including France, Italy and Spain. Some of the places included Abberville, Amens, Paris, Orleans, Vierzon, Issoudun, La Chatre, Gueret, Audbusson, Pu de Dome, Clermont Ferrand, Issoire, Ambert, St Etienne, Annony, Valence, Crest, Die, Sisteron, Digne les Bains, Entrevaux, Nice, Ventimigli, Montercarlo, Frejus, Avignon, Nimes, Montpellier, Beziers, Perpignan, Carcassonne, Castelnaudary, Albi, Cahores, Brive, Limoges.
Lots of the footage taken on he tour was thanks to the VholdR helmet cam! Without it some of the re-liveable footage would not have been possible. In total 3.5GB worth of footage was captured.
Some pictures are available in the Images page, but please be patient for the full compilation of events that took place…. a lot of editing is taking place to get a good bit of footage up!
The Baglux tail bag and Hein Gericke tank bank did the job effortlessly, and again I would have been lost without the tank bag!
Please stay tuned for some clips to be uploaded ino the Movies section, including the complete tour!
….. with just 4 days left to our Europe trip, the excitment is starting to kick in!
My Baglux tailpack and Hein Gericke tank bag are ready, as with my new alarmed disk lock! Now I’ve got to decide how I’m going to fit everything in the bags without them getting wet like last time …. although I do hope that the sun makes a show an stays out!
Spare micro sd cards are on the side for all the helmet footage! I will try and visit Internet cafe’s whilst on the trip and keep the blog update with current status, pictures and gossip.
Had a good day at BMF today, and ‘bagged’ me a bargain with a tank bag for just a tenner! Can’t say I’m a lover of tank bags but this is not bad as it’s quite thin!
It was a group ride up to Peterborough with ten of us in total … helmet cam video clips are currently being edited, so please enjoy the pics for now!
After waiting about a week for the seller on eBay to dispatch my new helmet camera from the Netherlands, it’s finally here and I have some footage on the ‘video’ page for you to view!
I must say, I’m impressed with the practicality of this camera, and the video quality is TV quality’ish.
However, I’m dissapointed with the microphone. The built in mic is way to sensitive, and just picks up nothing but wind noise!!
I’ve tried some tape of the mic hole but still no joy. I’m wating for the VholdR support forums to reply to my question, although the support on there website seems a little non existent!
Check out the clips I have taken so far, and please leave your comments !
Stay tuned for more!
Yes, with just 33 days left to begin our Euro Trip II, it’s starting to get exciting!
I’ve just purchased a Techmount and havetaken a few clips to see what it’s like on the bike. I haven’t fully decided yet if I’m going to keep it or sell for a fully integrated recorder unit.
I’m looking at buying a decent on board camera, but don’t want to have to remortgage to get one!
I’ve been looking at the 4Kam / 46Kam and the POV.1 I prefer the POV.1 but it’s £500 !
Anyone use anything else, or can recommend anything? (I would kindly accept donations via paypal! …. lol)
Use the Contact page to let me know your suggestions!
Cheers.
Pete decided he wanted a new bike …… (oh his ‘03 CBR 600 RR is for sale by the way!) so…. After a journey to South London, some red notes exchanging hands …. and a few hand shakes later, Satan found a new friend.
An ‘06 Suzuki GSXR-750 … that should keep Satan on his toes when he sees the gixxer in the mirror!
